We look at the Israelites' pattern of worshipping idols in order to gain prosperity, favor, and provision. We talk about what happens when we manipulate religion to attain abundance and how this is a similar temptation we face today. Do we worship God just to get His blessings? Is our motive in worshipping God to be in relationship with Him or to convince Him to give us what we want? Today, we'll talk about how we deal with this temptation, and we'll focus on the God who pursues us. He lovingly seeks restoration and healing to our hearts that continue to move away from Him.
