Kemuel Russell is a Georgia Tech grad from the Virgin Islands with degrees in Biology, Psychology and Spanish. In this episode, he shares his atypical and unorthodox journey to studying biology at Tech along with his struggles and triumphs as a student. He discussed how he was able to build community in the biology space on Tech's campus, the resources he used to discover biology opportunities outside of Medical school and his unusual route to his first internship during COVID. As some who didn't get into his dream school, this episode is filled with lessons on why it's important to be confident in YOUR journey and to keep striving for your goals even after perceived failures. Because you never know how one “closed door” can lead you to the door you were looking for all along.
