‘Everything’ is a mixture of Folk, Americana and Indie with a minimalist and organic production. The track lyrically broods over dark themes that contrast sonically with reaffirming guitar hooks, hopeful tones from Rhodes piano and the warmth of the violin and banjo. The single is taken from an extended version that will feature on Hayley’s upcoming album.
Her inspirations draw on the likes of; J. Tillman, Elliott Smith, and Sandy Denny, to name a few.
Recorded and produced between the studio and at home in Hastings, ‘Everything’ features a 7-piece band with group harmonies creating warm vocal arrangements reminiscent of Simon and Garfunkel. Imagine rays of light shining through a dusty attic room, and you’ll begin to get a feel for the imagination and authenticity that Hayley has carved into this recording.
