With the emergence of this beautiful weather we’ve had, I finally had the chance to smoke a brisket on my grill. Now brisket is a tough meat and it needs hours to cook through or it will be tough like a car tyre. Usually I get up early and get everything ready.
I found out the hard way that brisket gets to a place that is called ‘the stall’. The stall happens when the internal temperature fights against the heat trying to come into the meat. The cold and heat reach a level point and will not give an inch. I found out that after an hour passed, the internal temp would not climb above 88*C. I needed to reach at least 93 for the meat to break down and become tender. 
This made us think about a Spiritual lesson. This is what goes on inside of us, so to speak.
We have our walk with God. Sometimes in the beginning, we are soaring. We are red-hot for God and gladly tell others about Him. After a while, like the brisket, we reach a stall. Our soaring becomes hard like we’re beating heavily against the wind. Our red-hot desire to share our faith cools and we then fight against the world coming against us. We are in a spiritual war with the enemy coming against us. Listen today to be encouraged in your walk with God.
