I received Dr. JJ Pursell’s book towards the end of last year, “The Woman’s Herbal Apothecary”. And you know, like so many of us out there that have come to find our own sense of well-being and wellness practice, by way of good or bad…it probably took a whole lot of research, uncertainty, fear, and self compassion. Staring the pharmaceutical industry in the face, their credentials, authenticated studies, and their overall monopoly on our health takes courage. Especially when you’re coming from place of ill health.
Though there may be so much we don’t know, we do know our symptoms. And I love Dr. JJ for having touched on this, especially in correlation to the times. We’re looking to our symptoms, not simply as an isolated ailment, but as a part of the whole human system and what’s really going on there. 
Within this episode specifically, she opens up the dialogue to plant medicine, the cultivation of ones own herbal practice, and the maintaining of a legal herbal business; the technicalities of which speak to not only where we find ourselves within the current health system, but the power of choice that we carry.
