The Golden Gate Quartet (a.k.a. The Golden Gate Jubilee Quartet) is an American vocal group. It was formed in 1934 and, with changes in membership, remains active. Building on a tradition of vocal harmonies and syncopated rhythms, The Golden Gate Quartet not only popularized Gospel music but helped lay the foundations of Rock and Roll.
