Episode Synopsis

Rocket Lab (Nasdaq: RKLB), a global leader in launch services, has successfully completed a dedicated Electron mission for Capella Space. The 'We Love The Nightlife' mission took off at 11am on August 24th from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 on the Mahia Peninsula in New Zealand. It successfully deployed Capella's advanced Acadia satellite for their synthetic aperture radar (SAR) constellation into a 640km circular low Earth orbit.
The Electron's initial stage returned to Earth via parachute, landing in the Pacific Ocean hundreds of kilometers from Launch Complex 1 as part of a recovery mission. Rocket Lab's marine recovery vessel will soon retrieve the stage, transporting it to their production complex for analysis, aiding future recovery efforts. Notably, Rocket Lab also achieved a milestone by launching a previously used 3D printed Rutherford engine for the first time. This engine, which previously flew in the 'There and Back Again' mission of May 2022, matched the performance of new engines, completing a successful initial stage burn.
Rocket Lab founder and CEO Peter Beck stated: “Electron has played a crucial role in helping constellation operators like Capella deploy their spacecraft on time and on target, and we look forward to continuing building out Capella’s constellation with more dedicated launches this year.”
Founded in 2006, Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company with an established track record of mission success.
