Listen "Starting Points: How Your Theology Informs How You Grieve"
Episode Synopsis
Grief is such a complicated and difficult process. Anyone who has encountered loss knows that it can be such an unpredictable, challenging journey as you try to make sense of what has happened and somehow figure out a way to move forward. But something many circles fail to address is the role that our core beliefs we bring into that loss inform and shape how we view it. Depending on whether they are true or false, those key thoughts and concepts determine how we grieve - how we see God in the midst of it, how we make space for our emotions, how we discover good as a result of it, how we grow from and in it. Without a proper analysis of our most basic perceptions about God, suffering, ourselves, and life, grief will inevitably expose the gaps in our theological thinking and threaten to drown us in a sea of doubt and fear. This episode will be help those grieving to identify the faulty thinking that may be intensifying their anguish as well as prepare those who will grieve to walk into it better prepared.
