Episode Synopsis

Send us a textNumbers Chapter 8-10 describes various instructions given to the Israelites as they continue their journey in the wilderness. In chapter 8, God instructs Moses to set up the seven lamps on the lampstand in the Tabernacle and to consecrate the Levites for service. The Levites are then instructed to purify themselves and offer sacrifices. In chapter 9, God commands the Israelites to celebrate the Passover on the 14th day of the first month, and to keep the feast for seven days. The Israelites follow these instructions and celebrate the Passover in the wilderness. In chapter 10, God instructs Moses to make two silver trumpets for the priests to use to signal the people to gather together, to break camp, or to go to war. The Israelites also continue their journey, with the cloud of the Lord leading them. The personal nature of God is a recurring theme in the Old Testament, including in the book of Numbers. God is portrayed as a loving and compassionate God who desires a personal relationship with his people. He is not an impersonal force, but rather a God who interacts with his people, listens to their prayers, and responds to their needs.Additionally, throughout the Old Testament, we see God's desire to include foreigners and outsiders in his blessings. In Numbers chapter 9, we see that even non-Israelites who wanted to celebrate the Passover were allowed to do so, as long as they followed the same requirements as the Israelites.Furthermore, in Numbers chapter 10, we see that Moses invites his brother-in-law, a Midianite named Hobab, to join the Israelites on their journey through the wilderness. This shows that God's desire to include outsiders was not limited to religious practices, but extended to other aspects of life as well.Overall, these passages show us that God's love and grace are not limited to a select few, but are available to all who seek him and follow his ways, regardless of their background or nationality.#God #dailybible #bibleinayear #jesus #christianity #god #faith #bible #love #christian #prayer #gospel #holyspirit #godisgood #worship #hope #bibleverse #scripture #blessed #catholic #salvation #truth #christSupport the showWe use Logos Bible Software for our show prep.
