Galatians 5:16 (NASB) - “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.”Many of us try to become better people by doing more or following religious rules. But deep down, real change is not about what we do on the outside. It is about what God does on the inside.Galatians 5 reminds us that the Holy Spirit is the One who truly transforms us. When we walk by the Spirit, He gives us the power to say no to our old ways—the desires of the flesh. These are things like jealousy, anger, selfishness, and impurity. On our own, we struggle to overcome them. But the Spirit helps us fight and win this battle.The good news is, the Spirit also produces beautiful fruit in us—love, joy, peace, and more. These are not things we force to happen; they grow as we stay close to Jesus and let the Holy Spirit lead us.But it is not a one-time choice. It is a daily walk. We need to remain in step with the Spirit—by praying, reading God’s Word, and obeying His voice. It is like walking closely with a friend, trusting Him with each step.Are you trying to change by your own strength? Let the Holy Spirit refine you from within. Which fruit do you need more of today? Invite Him to grow it in you.Prayer:Holy Spirit, I surrender my heart to You. Teach me to walk with You each day.
