"Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." - Hebrews 12:1God's word describes the Christian life as running a race. God has placed us in a race of growth and maturity in the faith—He is molding and shaping us into the likeness of Christ. Still, there are distractions, discouragements, sin, and temptations around us. So run with perseverance. Don't let them hinder your progress, sideline, and stop you from the good race of faith. Perseverance is a by-product of saving faith. God is in it. He will help you cast aside and overcome every obstacle and trap so you won't be pulled back to your old ways of life. Remember, you are running a race of faith founded on Christ's victory over sin, Satan, and death. You are an overcomer in Christ. Even on what you are praying for, do not give up. The Daily Bread shared a story about perseverance. One day George Muller began praying for five of his friends. After many months, one of them came to the Lord. Ten years later, two others were converted. It took 25 years before the fourth man was saved. Muller persevered in prayer until his death for the fifth friend, and throughout those 52 years, he never gave up, hoping that he would accept Christ! His faith was rewarded, for soon after Muller's funeral, the last one was saved. Run with perseverance. Do not let discouragement slow you down, hold or control you. Keep moving forward, and do not give up. Ultimately, consider Jesus Christ, who endured opposition from sinful men and the gruesome suffering on the cross to save us. On the third day, He rose from the grave.  Fix your eyes on Jesus. Victory awaits those who persevere.May you run with perseverance the race marked out for you by God.Amen.
