Listen "Respect Confidentiality"

Episode Synopsis

“A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret.” - Proverbs 11:13 Trust is so valuable. It builds confidence, especially when you know how to keep a secret, private, or highly sensitive information. But we all stumble in many ways, especially in our speech life.  Gossip is one of the sins that betrays trust. Gossip spreads information about other people's private lives that might be unkind, disapproving, or untrue. OurFilipino buzzword is Marites. However, God's word condemns gossip. It reflects the devil's nature of destruction in relationships. So be careful of trusting a gossip with your private lives. And be trustworthy in handling personal and confidential matters. From A Passion for Preaching, Alan Redpath wrote a beneficial reminder. He said, "I once formed a mutual encouragement fellowship at a time of stress in one of my pastorates. The members subscribed to a simple formula applied before speaking of any person or subject that was perhaps controversial. T—Is it true?H—Is it helpful?I—Is it inspiring?N—Is it necessary?K—Is it kind? If what I am about to say does not pass those tests, I will keep my mouth shut! And it worked!”  Respect confidentiality. When you are trustworthy in handling personal and confidential matters, God is pleased, and people can trust you. May you respect confidentiality by the grace of God so people can trust you.Amen.
