Today’s devotion is from John 14:3. Jesus said, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”  We live in a temporary home: an earthly body and a world with all its desires that will pass away. However, Christ assures us of a heavenly home. An eternal home (and a glorified body, so to speak) that He prepares for His genuine children. He promised us that He would come back to take us with Him.  So every time we struggle with the temporal nature of earthly things and possessions and against earthly security, remember the greater reality, which is permanent–the eternal home promised by Jesus Christ. We should set our minds on them while exercising good stewardship of what we have. We should practice daily thankfulness to Him to deepen our contentment. Knowing that you have Jesus, He is your eternal security, and He prepares a heavenly home that no one can take away nor a calamity can destroy. You can live free from any insecurities and false security this world brings. Many seek this freedom that can only be found in the Saviour Jesus Christ. Live securely in this temporal world, for He who promised is faithful.  May you live securely in the Lord and His promises while waiting for His return. Amen.
