Hold On To The Truth

Listen "Hold On To The Truth"

Episode Synopsis

Today’s devotion is from Matthew 15:14, “Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” A responsible guide cares for the truth above all. But the spiritually blind guides care for their own definition of truth and not of Christ. That’s why Jesus often rebuked the self-righteous spiritual guide in His time. They blindly lead others to the same fate of a meritorious way of salvation and the external form of spirituality. Blind guides, in spiritual terms, are blind to God’s way of salvation, which characterizes all spiritually blind people. Scripture says in Romans 3:23 that we are all sinners and that no amount of good works and self-righteousness can change that spiritual condition. A sinner leading a sinner to a meritorious way of salvation is headed to the pit of hell. That’s why Jesus came. He is the only perfect guide, for He has never sinned and remains sinless before, during, ang after His death and resurrection, for He is the holy and eternl God. Those who believed in him were forgiven and received the gift of eternal life and His righteousness in exchange for their sins and their condemnation. The righteous guide is those who discovered salvation by grace through faith alone in Christ, whose sinless life is enough merit for salvation. So, when we encounter a spiritually self-righteous guide, the Lord’s counsel applies to us today—leave them alone. Instead, hold on to the truth of salvation by grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ. And you will never get lost. It is an honor, yet a tremendous responsibility, to lead others in the light of Christ. May you be Christ’s guiding light to others by sharing the pure gospel of Christ. Amen.
