“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” - 1 Peter 5:7 What storm of life is buffeting you? Problems can make you sad or distracted, affecting your mental health and appetite because of too much worrying. You realize that your capacity to carry tons of concerns has limits. You lose hearts and might tend to give up. Not if you have Christ. He will carry your burdens when you give them to Him, for He cares for you.  When Peter says to give God all your worries and cares, he talks about humility contrary to pride. Pride is dangerous, and it manifests in different forms. Being used to carrying problems alone by self is a form of pride. That's why we hear people crying in a corner with self-pity, bursting out in anger, and blaming others when they cannot make it through. Perhaps the devil's way of riding on problems, distracting, and discouraging us is the vulnerability of pride. So practice humility by giving all your worries and cares to God. Why should you do that? God's word said, "for he cares about you." That makes all the difference! You can get out of self-pity, for God cares about you. You can stand firm on your problems, for God cares for you. So give your cares to God, for He cares for you. You can tell He has your loads carried when your worry is replaced by peace. You know it, for you can think clearly, and can see the struggle of others. The deeper your peace, the higher you soar to help others despite having your problems.  When you give all your worries and cares to God in prayer, don’t take it back. Don’t keep talking about your worries and cares to others; don't keep complaining and repeating them. But leave them in God's hands by talking about how good God is and pray for others.  Everyone has a backpack of worries and cares, but who carries the backpack makes all the difference. May you give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares for you.Amen.
