Listen "Give Encouragement"

Episode Synopsis

“If it is to encourage, then give encouragement.” - Romans 12:8 The point of giving up on something is common to all. No one is exempt from discouragement. We give and receive encouragement. That’s the mutuality of life. God has bestowed gifts in the body of Christ. One of these is the gift of encouragement. The one with this gift can easily exhort, encourage, give joy, and comfort others. In the Book of Acts, Joseph, called Barnabas, has the gift of encouragement. His name means “son of encouragement.” Barnabas is instrumental in introducing the newly converted Paul to a wary church in Acts 9. Barnabas, in Acts 15, is also instrumental in encouraging John Mark and giving him a second chance despite his previous failure.  Give encouragement. There are people weary and sad. The tap on the shoulders can keep a discouraged person going. Ultimately, we received what we could give. God encourages us through other people so we may also learn to encourage others.  Encourage if it is your gift. Encourage when you receive it. Encourage when you have an opportunity.Encourage for God’s glory. Who will you encourage today? Do you know someone who needs a tap on the shoulder? May the Lord fill you with encouragement so you can encourage others for His glory. Amen.
