Today’s devotion is from Romans 15:13, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”  God is the God of hope. He is the source of real hope. He can fill us with joy and peace so we may overflow with hope and spill over to the people around us.  In Christ, we ought to be a people of hope representing our God of hope. We ought to be the gladdest, cheerful, optimistic, forward-looking, and hope-filled people on earth. Paul's prayer aligns with God's will, for God's Spirit indwells us. He can fill us with joy and peace to an overflowing with hope. Still, no one is exempt from the sorrows of life, especially when we lose a dear loved one, lose property in calamity, and when aspirations and dreams fail. But amid our sorrow is the spiritual blessings in Christ. We can be sorrowful yet always rejoicing and peaceful, for God can fill us with joy and peace that flows in a holy optimism despite any difficulty. Then, we can be hope-givers to others in despair, distress, and discouraged. We can impact a life by being a hope-giver by the power of God’s Spirit.  Is there someone you know who needs hope today? May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.Amen.
