“Lord, it's dark in me; in you is day. I am alone, but you will stay. I am afraid; you never cease. I am at war; in you is peace." This was the prayer Dietrich Bonhoeffer prayed over a prisoner about to be executed by the Nazi guards. Bonhoeffer knew the peace that came from the ever-abiding presence of the Holy Spirit, the precious gift of the Father that Jesus promised to His disciples and is available for us today.
