A lot of this is of no use. With compute available on the satellite, in space, one can vastly reduce the amount of data brought down for later use. This is by deploying algorithms at the point of capture to automatically detect what is needed in a given image, transmit that downstream, and nothing else.CEO Michael Bartholomeusz was an incredibly engaging speaker. He made effective use of props and metaphors to make the complex topic of edge compute in space easy to understand.
