Listen "Differences in Adaptation: The War of the Worlds"
Episode Synopsis
Join your host Garhdo as they take a look back at the seminal sci-fi classic The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells, and explore some of the ways the story has been adapted over the hundred and twenty five years since its initial publication, looking at where the most successful adaptations both succeeded and failed in bringing the iconic story to new audiences and media, from the two major film adaptations, to an infamous radio drama, and even a hit rock musical album.

This remains to date one of the most fun experiences I have had making this podcast and one of the episodes I am the proudest of. I looked at this classic science fiction novel for the first time, and explored some of the various ways it has been adapted over the years, including the infamous radio broadcast by Orson Welles and Jeff Wayne's incredible musical show.
I was also unaware while recording, but later learned that it was the 125th anniversary of War of the Worlds, and so that was a great milestone to honour. Must have been fate.
