Mads is a molecular biologist who earned his PhD degree from the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Copenhagen, for his studies on heat shock proteins in relation to cancer cell survival mechanisms. He is also Head of the Molecular Pathology and Cell Imaging Unit, Senior Research Scientist at Vancouver Prostate Centre, and associate Professor at Department of Urologic Sciences, University of British Columbia.
