Listen "Intergeneration and Ageism"
Episode Synopsis
Today's show is about Intergeneration, a subject that caught my attention whilst researching my book 'Forward After FIfty'. It seemed that an answer to the segregation of people over a certain age, let's say over-50, could be solved if the generations integrated; therefore a win, win for all. Moreover, bringing together of all ages could bring mutual respect and an evolvement of new dynamic ideas.
I came across a networking group in the U.S.A called Cirkel, whose goal is to connect people from different generations. Thanks to them, I was introduced to Alexa Fleet, who I am talking to today about intergeneration and ageism. Alexa is a social gerontologist and behavioural health integration researcher at New York State Psychiatric Institute/ Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Her work strengthens structures across the lifespan that promotes healthy ageing for all. You can contact Alexa through Linkedin
