Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is a growing focus for the investment industry. In 2022, the CFA Institute launched its DEI Code in the US before expanding to Canada and the UK. The code provides the investment industry with a structured framework through which to develop meaningful and measurable strategies to better manage people in the sector.Just last month, the CFA Institute and CFA Societies Australia introduced the local iteration of the DEI Code and, while down under to celebrate the launch, CFA Institute’s Sarah Maynard joined Financial Standard managing editor Jamie Williamson to discuss the motivations behind the launch, who’s on board and what’s next for DEI.
