Listen "168. Commercial Energy Payments on Farmland"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode of the Farmland Energy Legal Podcast, we are joined by Riley Amdor, a rising second year law student at Penn State Law and a Research Assistant at the Center Agricultural and Shale Law at Penn State. Riley walks us through a recent survey published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Economic Research Service (ERS), which looked at the role of commercial energy payments from oil, natural gas, and wind energy production in agricultural producer income. We discuss key findings from the report including regional differences, farm size differences, and other farmer characteristics that impact commercial energy payment amounts.
