Listen "Broken and Shared"
Episode Synopsis
When we end every Fam & Fed episode with “come to the table” we mean it. When we say “stay fed fam” we say it because we love y’all as family - we value everyone as our brother and sister, created in the image and likeness of our same Heavenly Father. Our hearts are broken seeing the injustice and trauma that racism and police brutality have inflicted on our brothers and sisters of the black community. We stand with you - to fight with and for you in however we may be called to, to hear your stories, and to sit with you in silence as you process. We know this has gone on for far too long and that racism is rampant even though many may believe otherwise. The following episode is a recording of a Fam & Fed IG Live Special – titled Broken & Shared. Our guests were Alexandria Glaude and Lauralyn Solano, our good friends, and a Catholic mother-daughter duo sharing their perspectives - Alex as a young black woman in the Catholic Church, and Lyn as a WOC herself, and as the mother of a young black woman in today’s world. We pray that the Holy Spirit may enlighten our minds and open our hearts to their stories - no matter how uncomfortable, no matter how gut wrenching, and no matter how difficult it may be to hear.
