Her mother-in-law was raised in the South as a sharecropper and was able to raise black boys into excellence despite the conditions in South Los Angeles. This episode features Damen Fletcher, who is the founder and CEO of Train of Thought, a company that teaches children how to play chess. He grew up in Compton, California in the 80s and learned chess at the age of 13 from his best friend. He played chess every day in his free time.
