In this section from vv. 5-9 we are governed by the principle that The Scripture provides for and assumes a lifelong transformation into Christlikeness! In the first phrase of verse five we saw that 1) SALVATION STARTS WITH RESCUE FROM THE EFFECTS OF SIN. Then, as we moved to the next phrase in verse five we saw that 2) SALVATION CONTINUES FOR THE BELIEVER IN A TRANSFORMATIVE WAY. We only covered the first two points under this, that a) We have been given the resources to obey the command, and b) We are to work towards growth in Christ. 
Today, we look at the list that is presented in vv. 5-7 and see that c) We aim for certain qualities.
