However, she didn't give up and appealed the decision, but unfortunately, her appeal was also turned down on August 31, 2020.Subsequently, she took her case to court, arguing that the insurance company wrongly refused her benefits. Claiming that Sun Life Assurance wrongly denied her benefits from her job's benefit plan, she took legal action under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) in December 2020.
