CHINA HONORS HITACHI ELEVATOR'S ENVIRONMENTAL EFFORTS
Hitachi Elevator (China) Co., Ltd. has received a National Green Factory certificate from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Yahoo Finance reports. The National Green Factory certificate is based on an assessment of a company’s achievements in terms of infrastructure, management systems, energy resources, product condition and emissions reduction. Hitachi noted it has dedicated itself to clean manufacturing, selecting environmentally friendly raw materials, reducing the amount of energy used in the production process, using environmental packaging and upgrading procedures in connection with the installation of new elevators and escalators. It is also in the process of building an environmentally friendly supply chain management system. The company said it developed its Environmental Vision 2025 program to be a long-term plan governing all business activities, with a focus on reducing the environmental burden of its products throughout their lifecycles.
