Dulce Santiago-Montoya is the definition of a fighter!
Raised on the streets of Chicago's Humboldt Park, this girl has been tested and proven to be a strong independent warrior. She raised her son on her own for the last 18 years. Diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2015. Her whole world was rocked! Initially diagnosed, then re-diagnosed with the more aggressive triple negative breast cancer. They hit her with everything they had and still she stayed working throughout treatment, even after a single skin sparing mastectomy she didn't quit. It wasn't in her.
In the years since diagnosis Dulce has truly blossomed. Modeling for the nonprofit Haus of Volta as a pinup to represent body positivity and self love after breast cancer treatment. Participating in a lingerie campaign as well as walking the runway with Hulabelle Swimwear. Proud of being a lady-motorhead she loves going fast and is a proud lead foot! Dulce is a state leader for The Young Survival Coalition where she supports other young breast cancer survivors, particularly in the LGBTQ community. Pride in who you are inside and making your dream-self a reality are benchmarks in the life of this remarkable pinup.
March 2019 she signed up for her first Tour de Pink. Before this she hadn't been on a bicycle since High School. Training for only a few months she made the trek to Thousand Oaks to start the Tour de Pink with a Bianchi survivor bike. 7 miles from the finish she fell and dislocated her elbow. Dulce has continued to ride and has participated in another Tour De Pink and finished!.
Dulce has bought her first horse which was a childhood dream and has worked hard to build a strong relationship with her mustang.
2022 Dulce quite her job in hospitality to focus more on family and handling the Estate of her papa. During that time she has started her own Dog training & boarding business called Lady D Petcare. Each day is a win by living the dream.
