Excerpt of the sermon.Topic: Our Help is in the Name of the LordText: 2Kings 6:30-7:1World Government is failing, not because it wants to fail but that the present challenge is so overwhelming as of old.Many people, like the woman in our text have shifted their confidence from the Lord to placing their faith in the system of the world. Still, a wise government will rise up to ask God for help. According to Ps 46:1, only God is the present help in the time of real trouble as we have have in the world.The church is the hope of the world, Matt 5:13-14. Sadly, the holders of the light have run into hiding. What should be our resolve?1:- Our help is in the name of the Lord, 2Chron 14:11; Ps 124:8.2:- Our determination must be to have God glorified in us, alive or in death, Gal 1:24; Phil 1:19.3:- We must not hide in shame but be determined to shine as champions in a defeated and fearful world. See the attitude of resolute unbelievers and their impact, 1Sam 4:9-11. And to Joshua generations, which you are, the Lord is saying to us, be strong, Josh 1:6-7, 9; 10:25.You are not at the mercy of happenings, you are the news maker if you are in Christ. This is your finest moment to shine. Your health shall bounce back without casualty, Jer 30:17.Finally, may your name not be blotted out from the book of life, Rev 3:5. Your name is already in the Book of Life, but you must identify with Christ to answer your name by living the right life, Rom 3:24-25; 5:9-10; 8:30.
