Had you known more of God, then more power is generated for influence. So, knowledge is the affluence that wields unlimited influence, in opulence. Wasted resources, therefore, is traceable to what you don't know, Hos 4:6.Understanding the thematic text:1:- knowing God is a testament (covenant) to the reality of the living God, Eccl 8:4. Not to know God is doing wickedness against the covenant of promise.2:- the manifestation of the people of power is the answer to a waiting world, Rom 8:19; Prov 24:4.3:- a clear pointer to your God-type is the answer that you provide to life problems, Jonah 1:6; the world wanted solution but Jonah remained a sleeper.4:- a distinction that accords your life is in the deliberate demonstration of influential power, Acts 4:13, power of influence transcends a mere academic exercise.5:- you can't perform greater than the revelation you have, regardless of the elegant platforms for performance, Phil 3:10; Eph 1:18-19.6:- knowing God turns you into a watered garden of some sort, Isa 58:11, only the God that you are conscious of can guide you to a watered garden.7:- knowledge is an edge in the game of life, Phil 3:10-12. The much of "what" you know prepares your world for your "who". Your person is sharpened by your personality, and it is answerable to knowledge; devoid of personal identity crisis, Acts 17:28.Types of Power1:- Financial Power, Deut 8:18. Money is a force that produces your voice of influence in the commodity market of life. Only God truly gives true wealth.2:- Spiritual Power, 1Chron 16:19; to be carnally minded is foolishness and death, see Rom 8:6. But having power with God makes you a prince of a nation to prevail, Gen 32:28.3:- Health Power, Deut 7:15. For we know that the whole world lies in wickedness and sickness, it takes divine health to be a force, comp. 1John 5:19. God told Pastor E.A. Adeboye to have his bath with a seemingly unclean water, and that Jesus' blood was stronger and more effective than Izal (disinfectant). After many years of that experience, the man of God is still very much alive. That's super power, Mk 16:18; Acts 28:4-6.How do I access influential power?1:- The Presence of God, Gen 32:28. Jacob gained power with God. You can't live in pleasure without some form of influential power, and that can only be found in His Presence, Ps 16:11.2:- Being studious, Daniel 9:2. People can gain enormous influence by the ease of access into books. What is written is for our example for greater exploits, Rom 15:4. When what is in the scriptures becomes your culture, you cannot end up as a vulture (scavenger). It is true that readers are leaders, Acts 17:28; and it takes reading to know what poets have said concerning the issues of life.3:- Keeping company with the influential, Prov 13:20. Walking with the wise can promote you to the level of the truly great. Saul found himself in the company of prophets and he was taken as a prophet, 1Sam 10:11-12, you will always behave the company that you keep. You association can determine the solution you can access.4:- Deliberate thanksgiving, 2Chron 13:13-14. No problem can stand thanksgiving. Solution is always at the instance of gratitude in the face of aptitude, 2Chron 20:15-22, enormous power is wielded when we praise the almightiness of God. According Ps 22:3, God inhabits the praises of His people: that's raw mobile and resident power!Benefits of Knowing God:1:- happiness is a function of the happenings around what you know about God, John 13:17. What happens in you is bigger than what is happening around you, when God is involved.2:- access to the power of His resurrection for effective ministry and service to God and humanity, Phil 3:10.3:- freedom from oppression and wastage, Hos 4:6. Resources are unlimited, but it takes what you know to have a successful management.4:- salvation as well as a departure from evil and destruction is the lot of knowledgeable believers, Job 28:28.5:- understanding to life's mysteries, Deut 29:29; Prov 9:10. Life is full of deep mysteries without the knowledge of God. But with knowing God, every mystery becomes demystified open secrets.6:- strength and exploits, Dan 11:32; 2Chron 26:15. Testimonials are proofs of your certificates if you know God, indeed.7:- divine guidance is a sure assurance of insurance, Isa 30:21. Those who know their God cannot be stranded in their map reading. What are the implication of not knowing God?1:- destruction of life and property, Hos 4:6. Resources are wasted for not knowing the Great Supplier.2:- Longtime captivity, Judges 6:1-2; Job12:25. Oppression rides on the wheel of ignorance, in total darkness. What you don't know can keep you from what knows you, to your disadvantage.3:- Celebration of the gift at the Giver's expense. In Ps 78:29-30, the preference of the food over the giver of the meal was what wasted the children of Israel.3:- Lost of sight(natural, mental, spiritual eyes). Blindness in any form can limit your edge over issues of life. In Mk 10:46-52, Bartimaeus lacked the natural eyes but had spiritual eyes. Capacity to think straight is damaged when mental eyes are blinded, 2Cor 4:4. Spiritual eyes helps for deeper revelation beyond the misery of life into the mysteries of destiny, Eph 1:18. May you not lose your inner eyes, 2Kings 6:15-17; John 1:4.4:- A life of weakling. The less of God that you know the more weakness sets in to your life.5:- Stagnancy. When the God of light is missing, people live in darkness and start kissing darkness while hissing, Job 5:13-14.5:- Shame. It is Christ in us that commands glory, Col 1:27. To be without Christ, spells doom and utter disgrace.6:- Lack of understanding, Eph 4:18. Without an opening of your understanding, you can never be outstanding. The greatest theologian is the one whose understanding has been opened, Lk 24:45.7:- absence of God's Presence and His ways, Job 21:14-15; Exo 33:15. Whatever takes you off the truth will take you off every good thing. Conclusion:Without discovery, recovery is not in sight. His provision is premised for access on the strength your vision. The enemy's greatest weapon in his arsenal is to shut you off from knowing God, personally. Being zealous or religious doesn't make you a fulfilled saint, Rom 10:1-3. Indeed, if the church truly knows Christ, the world won't be enmeshed in so much crisis. May the Lord help us to consciously know Him in spirit and in truth. Amen.Ekundayo E. OLORUNDARE
