But how can we endure the pain and effort it often takes to run the race God has set before us?  Because our sovereign God supports and helps us. Artur Piotrowski explains that his help comes in three ways; firstly from the witnesses described in the preceding chapter (Heb. 11), where men and women of faith prevailed powerfully over their circumstances; secondly because he provides the means by which we can rid ourselves of the burden of hindrances and sins; and thirdly by the living presence of Christ throughout the race.
