Episode Synopsis "Intermittent Fasting (IF) with Raffaella and Azahandri"
You might have heard people talking a lot about the intermittent fasting diet. That is because it is believed to be an easy weight loss strategy. According to the World Health Organisation in 2016 1.9 billion adults were overweight and 650 million were classified as obese. Meaning almost 34% of the world’s population live an unhealthy lifestyle. Because of this, people are looking for quick remedies for weight loss and therefore they turn to strategies such as fasting or FAD diets. By the end of this talk, we hope that you understand a bit more about what exactly IF is, how it works, and if it is for you. KovsieCAST is a KovsieFM podcast aimed at assisting you to achieve academic success brought to you by the University of the Free State Student Affairs and the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and presented by the UFS Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. This forms part of the Eat and Succeed series. We are talking to Rafaella Braga and Azahandri Strydom about Intermittent Fasting, or IF.
