In this episode, we’re going to talk about my favorite topic, sexuality,  which is different than sex. I know you'll enjoy my chat with  another PhD friend, Dr. Shaun Miller, who earned his PhD in philosophy from Marquette University. His focus is the philosophy of sex, relationships, sexuality education, gender, and how to increase well-being through sexuality. I love this quote by C.G. Jung, one of the founders of depth psychology.: “With the exception of religious longings, nothing challenges modern man more consciously and personally than sex.”Like spirituality, the archetypal energy of sexuality is so huge and complex and mysterious and wields so much power over us, that any attempt to wrap your arms around the smallest  component of the topic needs to be done with humility. And the more people try to control and limit others’ expression and exploration for personal truth as they relate to these two most powerful instincts – sexuality and spirituality – the more energy that gathers in the personal and collective shadow, energy that finds its way into the world via destruction in the form of sexual violence, whether within intimate relationships, religious or other communities, or on a collective level, such as human trafficking and the mass killing of souls through rape.
