Listen "3: Give something FREE, then wait"

Episode Synopsis

Give something FREE, then wait.
In 2004 I started using Google for more than search, Gmail was FREE, Gmail for business was FREE.
I used it because it was FREE.
But I also used it because I knew it would help me build the start-up I was working on, we needed an email address.
Let me give you one example of how Google gave me something Microsoft didn't.
Google Gmail, let me log in anywhere.
Microsoft mail, god that was a faff to set up.
Google gave me timeback, it was FREE time.
They traded there FREE product and gave me FREE time.
Some years later, I got an email from Google, "Your legacy account is being transferred to a Goggle Gsuite, it's time to start paying"
Well Google had given me a lot of support in one way or another, so I didn't feel so bad now having to pay.
They still give me Google Search for FREE, kinda.... (we do pay in very cleaver ways)
Thankfully, I'd say 100% of the tech I use or implement is cloud-based.
Phew.
Because this means I can now work anywhere, at any time, at any moment, and on any device.
Today, I'm working on the hoof, and have meetings both face-to-face and on zoom and teams.
I stopped in the local library to get FREE wifi.....
So I can do what I need to do, from anywhere.
Cheers Phil
