The air is so still here,
that the slightest

t w i t c h . . .

sets off visible shock waves.
Like a rock into silent water.
Like a modulated emotion.
Like a raw-earth attraction.

That is the surface of the air,
and underneath is where the people are.

They talk and drown themselves.
Talk and drown.
Talk and drown.
But I can remove them with just a

t w i t c h . . .

and the ripples erase the chaos
from under my still, still air.
