Listen "Blue Mountain Land Trust ( recreation, education, and conservation)!"

Episode Synopsis

We all have heard the term "land trust". But, do you really know what a land trust does? Why land trusts may be the most important element to recreation and wildlife habitat conservation moving forward? In this podcast, we speak with Amanda Martino, the Conservation Director, with the Blue Mountain Land Trust.
We talk about what is a land trust, the operating area of the Blue Mountain Land Trust (BMLT), the organization priorities, and give a bit more time to wildlife habitat conservation. As gravel cyclists, we have an impact on wildlife when we ride in the forests, and land trusts are one mechanism to offset our wildlife impact.

This podcast is produced by Dirty Freehub, a nonprofit organization that publishes hand-curated (and great!) gravel cycling route guides. Our mission is to connect gravel cyclists to where they ride through stories about culture, history, people, places, and lands with the hope that they will become involved as advocates, volunteers, or donors with organizations that protect and preserve recreation spaces.
