Yesterday (Tuesday) in the Dail, discussion was had about grocery inflation with the deputy leader of the social democrats Cian O'Callaghan raising the issue during Leaders' Questions.A study this week carried out by PwC reported that 70% of people are now either very worried or extremely worried about food prices.Comments were also made in the Dail about pensioners having to leave items at the supermarket checkout that they can no longer afford.This morning (Wed) on 'Deise Today' Damien spoke to Conor Pope, leading consumer affairs journalist with the 'Irish Times' and editor of their 'Pricewatch' column.Conor spoke about grocery inflation and also another food-related story this morning; Irish farmers welcoming tentative moves in recent days by the European Parliament to restrict "cynical" vegetarian and vegan food producers from using words such as sausage, burger and schnitzel to sell their products!You can listen back to Conor's chat with Damien by clicking on the image above...
