Episode Synopsis "Festival Going, Festival Making in a Pandemic"
Arts festivals typically depend on attracting masses of people to attend weeks of action-packed programmes. So how do you meaningfully, yet safely present and attend one in the middle of a global pandemic? In this radio chat, we shine the spotlight on the Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA), which experienced (and is still experiencing) the unenviable challenge of having to contend with the limitations imposed by Phase Two (Heightened Alert) in Singapore. Join Gaurav Kripalani (Festival Director, 2018 - 2021) and Ke Weiliang (Channel NewsTheatre) as they reflect on their experiences with SIFA 2021 from the points of view of a festival maker and festival goer respectively. This radio chat took place on 4 August 2021.
