We’re here to SHINE!Matthew 5:14-16 - “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.You don’t have to go very far to encounter darkness in our world. Paul describes our world pretty accurately in his letter to Timothy saying “…in the last days there will be lovers of self, lovers of money, …arrogant and boastful…” people all around us.But in Jesus’ sermon on the mount, He says that we are the light of the world. That means even in the midst of the darkness and evil around us: •We’re the ones He put here to shine. •We’re the ones He sent to light the way home.•And we do it not for power or position, but to the glory of God.There’s darkness all around us…so don’t flicker and fade. Let your light shine bright and bring ‘em home one at a time.
