Episode Synopsis
JOIN THE DAD THE MAN FACEBOOK GROUP --> CLICK HERE <-- or visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/dadthemanJonny Gomes is a former major league baseball player and currently the the minor league outfield and base running coordinator for the Arizona Diamondbacks. He strung together a phenomenal thirteen year career in the league from 2003 to 2016 and won two World Series championships. The first with the Boston Red Sox and the second with the Kansas City Royals. Jonny's story of accidentally becoming a professional baseball player - yes, accidentally - is a good one, and we get into it in our conversation today. Jonny has a unique perspective and honest gratitude for the life he lives, and you hear it come through every time he speaks. He's a really funny guy with a dry sense of humor, and I really enjoyed chatting with him. Above it all, he's an incredible man, husband, and father, and it was an honor to host him on the show.DISCUSSION POINTSJonny reflects on his childhoodRaising privileged kids that aren’t spoiledWhat Jonny loved about baseball as a kidHow Jonny accidentally made the MLBHow kids change life for an MLB playerPressure is a privilege Traveling for MLB games with the familyDerek Jeter - The Captain and the old Yankee StadiumLife at home with five kidsJuggling little league sports and other activities with five kidsThe role Jonny’s wife plays in their family and how he supports her What Jonny is the most proud ofWhat Jonny wants his legacy to be with his kidsLINKS@jonnygomesusa
