David Kaplan and Gordon Wittenmyer have a spirited discussion about why it took the Cubs so long to call up Christopher Morel. Morel was red hot at AAA this season and has continued that pace after a call up to the big leagues. He’s rejuvenated the lineup and has shown capability as an everyday player. Kap wonders why it took so long. The bullpen ineffectiveness, particularly with Michael Fulmer is also another debate. Kap doesn’t understand why he’s getting the ball late in games in high leverage situations.
