In this CRA Energy Chats podcast, CRA's Laura Sochat joins Simone Accornero, CEO of Flexidao, to look at the green energy certificate markets, discussing their challenges and opportunities in supporting the decarbonisation of global power consumption.  Laura, Francesco and Simone then discuss Flexidao’s proposed solution for a more granular system to track guarantees of origins’ time and location data, assessing the interest of large electricity consumers as well as suppliers for such a solution. Finally, they touch on the implications of Flexidao’s blockchain-based software for the broader energy system are analysed, and how a more precise tracking of green certificates would incentivise the development of renewable energy capacity closer to large demand centres.
