Listen "NACF story : marketing business development"
Episode Synopsis
This episode covers the Korean agricultural cooperatives's business development in response to agricultural market liberalization in the late 1980s and 1990s. The NACF implemented three-year plans to improve agricultural distribution, focusing on infrastructure development like rice processing centers (RPCs) and agricultural product distribution centers (APCs). These efforts aimed to enhance efficiency, improve product quality, and strengthen the NACF's market position amidst increasing competition from foreign companies and domestic conglomerates. A key element was the establishment of new logistics systems, culminating in the opening of the Yangjae-dong logistics center, which integrated wholesale and retail functions. The NACF also expanded its retail presence through the growth of its "Hanaro Mart" and "Hanaro Club" supermarket chains.
