Listen "The Diane Darling Interview"
Episode Synopsis
Landing new clients is critical to having a healthy service oriented business. As such, it is important that we take the time to network in order to make new connections and identify new business possibilities. Have you ever stopped to ask yourself, 'How good am I at networking?' The fact of the matter is, none of us are born master networkers; networking is a skill we learn through experience - but it can also be coached. Diane Darling is the owner of Effective Networking, a training organization designed to help people become better at networking. She has received rave reviews for her seminars and speeches and is increasingly sought after as an expert resource on the subject of networking. McGraw-Hill commissioned Diane to write the definitive book on networking called The Networking Survival Guide. Published in April of 2003, The Networking Survival Guide went into a 2nd printing just 90 days after the book hit the shelves! She has appeared on NBC Nightly News, in The Wall Street Journal, San Francisco Chronicle, and The Boston Globe. A former columnist for the Boston Business Journal, Darling is also a blogger and random columnist for a variety of publications. In this podcast, listen up as QRCA Views new podcast editor Michael Carlon and Diane discuss her path to starting her own training business, the challenges of growing a business, and key tips that anyone can start using right now to become better at networking.
