Episode Synopsis
Sandra Deer is an award-winning playwright whose most recent play, The Subject Tonight is Love, premiered at Atlanta, Georgia?s regional Alliance Theatre in 2003 where it was nominated for the Best New American Play Critics Award. Her first play, So Long on Lonely Street, premiered at the Alliance in 1985 and went on to productions in Boston, New York, Los Angeles, and London. Ms. Deer has taught creative writing at Agnes Scott College, Mercer and Emory Universities. She studied with Linda Metcalf and Tobin Simon, the author?s of Writing the Mind Alive: the Proprioceptive Method for Finding Your Authentic Voice, and has been teaching this meditative writing practice privately and at Evening at Emory for fifteen years.
