Listen "07/05/2024 Shabbat Service: Internalize the Socratic Method when Listening to Claims"
Episode Synopsis
** Congregation Ahavat Olam’s musically uplifting weekly Shabbat service. **
Rabbi Idan's Pnina for this Shabbat, Parashat Korach, is: “Internalize the Socratic Method when Listening to Claims and Before Restating Them.”
Sermon excerpt: "Words and the acquisition of information, whether true or not, about other people and situations are extremely powerful.
Unfortunately, we see over and over again that the promotion of certain agendas and the pursuit of power and position may lead to modifying the truth.
We see this regularly in the anti-Israel campaign on college campuses around the world, on social media, and in movements such as BDS. The purveyors of these untruths have invented their own narrative, their own discourse, and it seems that as long as more people believe in it, it doesn’t matter if the narrative is false; they behave as if it’s true." - Rabbi Idan
