Listen "Master Active Listening with 3 Tricks!"
Episode Synopsis
Active listening skills, involving both verbal and non-verbal techniques, are at the core of any successful conversation. Habitually, we listen to reply!
We are dying to make the speaker stop speaking so that we can start speaking our thoughts and give our suggestions and at times we are even finding ways to end the conversation so we can move on to the next thing. When we sincerely listen to what others say they will also be interested in communicating with us and so a connection will be formed.
This can effectually help avoid miscommunication, form friendships and improve any relationships.
I always suggest an exercise in my communication skill
workshops focused on actively listening. So, I make a few people engage in a discussion. Then I randomly ask everyone in the team to write a summary of information they
listened to, from any two speakers in the discussion. This, I’ve found, a good way to get into the habit of forcing your mind to stay active and engaged during interactions with others. It also helps you stay focused during conversations.
This episode is all about mastering the art of ACTIVE
LISTENING! I share with you three tricks that have helped me phenomenally over the years and my students have found these most valuable as well! I hope this sharing of knowledge via this podcast, helps you polish your communication skills!
