Jon Glaser, from Parks and Recreation, talks about how when one door closes another opens. After not being selected for SNL Robert Smigel remember the audition and Jon landed his first major writing gig with Dana Carvey. That led to Conan O'Brien and so much more. Jon and I discussed crossing paths at summer camp many decades ago where he delivered a comedy bit that has stayed with me all my life. Jon has had an amazing career. We discuss his comedy roots that began at the University of Michigan. Jon talks about following his passion for improv and auditioning and becoming a part of Second City Chicago. Jon talks about how his SNL audition didn't lead him to SNL but after being seen by Robert Smigel landed him a writing gig on The Dana Carvey Show. We also discuss how Jon landed a dream job writing and performing for Conan. Many will recognize Jon from Parks and Recreation where he played reoccurring character Councilman Jeremy Jamm over the course of the show's run.
